The Falstaff Freehouse is one of a dwindling number of traditional English ale houses.

We are open from 12.00 noon 'til 11.00 pm. Sunday to Thursday and from 12.00 noon 'til midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

We generally offer between 4 and 6 different real ales. Phoenix 4.7% and Smiling Assassin at 5.2% are nearly always available together with changing lower and higher gravity beers. These are generally Falstaff monthly specials although we do have guest beers from time to time, usually new beers from local micros.We also have a real cider or perry from Saxon Ciders.

For the lager drinker we offer a selection of 5 lagers including a guest continental brewed lager such as Bitburger or Warsteiner plus bottled lagers such as Tyskie.Draught Guinness and Strongbow are also available.

We have a no smoking room and a pleasantly verdant outside seating area with an interesting collection of plants, primarily firs and ferns. We are dog friendly. Well behaved children are also welcome up to 6.00pm., except in the front bar.
